Rhinoplasty is a surgery to reshape and rebuild the nose. The purpose is to make the nose more functional and better looking.

Nose is located in the center of the face and having an important role in the face appearance. It is not only visually, but also functionally important. It helps cleaning and heating the air from the outside, while also helping us sense smells and sound resonance. When planning an aesthetic change, it’s also important to keep the nose functional. Each nose has its own unique shape. Even small changes in the nose can affect the facial appearance. When planning, it needs to make a different design according to each patient's face. A nose which looks very nice on its own may not look nice on the person's face, or it can distract the overall appearance by drawing too much attention on the face. Therefore, I listen the patient’s expectations first, make recommendations based on my experiences and then I plan the surgery together with the patient. It should be noted that everyone has different expectations and the visual they want to see on their face is different. While some patients like retrousse noses, others like more natural looking noses. What’s important is to make healthy noses that the patients will enjoy seeing in their faces, feel happy when they look at the mirror and enjoy sharing their selfies.

There are two main approaches to rhinoplasty. Endonasal (closed) and External (open) approach. In the closed approach all the cuts are made inside of the nose, leaving no scars on the outside. In the open approach, a V-shaped incision is made through the narrowest part of the nostrils. The advantage of this approach, which leaves no visible scars, is more comfortable and provides a wider vision for me. I use the open approach in my routine and I am quite happy with the results.
